While all eyes are on the Masters Tournament the first week of April, Augusta's minor-league sports scene will be more crowded than usual. The Augusta Lynx, Augusta's East Coast Hockey League affiliate, will play their final regular-season games that week, while the GreenJackets, the city's low-Class A baseball team, will start their season in Charleston, S.C. It's the only time of the year both Augusta minor-league teams are playing. In their seventh season in Augusta, the Lynx are seeking their first postseason berth since the 2000-01 season, when they lost in the wild-card round. Former National Hockey League forward Stan Drulia is back for his second season as coach. The Lynx went 32-33-7 in Mr. Drulia's first year. With the NHL lockout looming during the off-season, the Lynx chose not to sign an affiliation with an NHL or American Hockey League team this year. The GreenJackets also went through an affiliation change after their season ended in September. The Boston Red Sox and the GreenJackets ended their six-year relationship when Augusta signed a two-year deal with the San Francisco Giants. The GreenJackets went 66-73 and finished third in their division in the second half last year. The Red Sox signed with the Capital City Bombers, who played last year in Columbia but could move before the 2005 season begins. Augusta and Capital City play in the South Atlantic League, where the GreenJackets won the league championship in 1995 and 1999.
